The service at the church had ended just before we arrived. The congregation left via the great gate which was then was closed leaving only a side gate open. The men sat in groups chatting before going to the local bar for a drink.
The drinking is strictly a men only affair while the women are left to sit and exchange village gossip. The older women in particular are expected to gather the news!
